How Personal Content Builds Real Connections

For most realtors, social media feels like one big highlight reel of sold signs and open houses, but for our client, Panama City Beach Realtor Chuck Sowers, it’s become something more than that, it’s about connection.

Chuck admits that sharing content online wasn’t always easy. “Sharing content on social media has always been a struggle. However, Maranta Copy Co has shown me that’s what people want to see. I’m not just marketing my business, I am marketing myself.” That simple shift has changed the way he shows up for his audience.

You might expect Chuck’s most engaging posts to be all about homes, but he’s often shocked by the personal ones. “I’m usually surprised when people come up to me in public and mention a personal post I made,” he says. Those small glimpses into his life spark conversations that might never have happened otherwise. When asked if he ever finds it challenging to balance professional versus personal content online, he said, “I never try to balance professional and personal. Whatever I am doing or selling, I use as content. Some weeks it will be unbalanced.”

It’s also not about pushing sales, it’s about creating real connections. “People will relate to like-minded people. My interests outside of real estate will strike a bond with a customer rather than a house I am selling.” It’s proof that buying or selling a home isn’t just a transaction, it’s a relationship.

If another agent asked Chuck why personal content matters, his answer would be simple: “It’s important that you show who you are, more than what you do.” That doesn’t mean it’s always easy. Chuck admits he’s private by nature. “Yes, I am private by nature, and showing my personal life is challenging. Hiring an amazing marketing company helped me get over my hesitation.” With the right strategy and support, even the most camera-shy agents can create content that feels real and works.

Personal content isn’t just filler between listings, it’s the secret ingredient that helps clients connect with the person they’ll be working with. Chuck’s story shows that being yourself online not only builds relationships but also builds a business.
